Welcome to the very first iteration of our development blog! In this series we aim to give you sneak peeks of upcoming updates and provide insight on our development behind the scenes. You can expect frequent development blogs as we've been and still are working very hard on improving GTA:N and a lot of important changes have been made and will come in the future.

Now, make sure to tighten your seatbelts because we're about to embark on a journey down Network road!

A big improvement in performance & stability
The development team has made performance and stability their number one priority which will be noticeable soon in the next update. We've rewritten almost the entire code, fixing many critical bugs that crashed the game with no apparent reason or logs. It's been our goal to achieve the best performance and avoid FPS drops which is why most of our focus has been shifted to these key points. Our client is more stable than ever and should provide you with a very smooth gameplay session with no fluctuations in FPS or random crashes!

A beautiful, fast and new streamer
A complete new streamer, handily crafted with love by the development team. They've completely rewritten and recreated the streamer with their focus once again shifted to performance and stability. Our goal has been to achieve the best possible sync quality and accuracy to keep the game for all online players balanced and up-to-date. Our client has displayed very promising results with our new streamer, essentially allowing for endless amounts of entities and objects to be streamed without any drop in performance or stability at all. Perfect for creating those high speed race maps!

A loop for the stars with our new synchronization code
Our goal has been to achieve the best possible sync quality and accuracy to keep the game for all online players balanced and up-to-date, and that goal has very much been reached. The development team has seen a big improvement in synchronization overall, allowing for smoother online walking, shooting (say bye-bye to lag shooting) and even perfect unoccupied vehicle sync! We're well on our way to improve synchronization even more to provide the players of GTA:Network seamless gameplay.

    Say what? A GTA:Network Launcher?!
Sleek. Modern. User friendly. Beautiful. Extravagant. Amazing. Practical. 7 terms which fit our new launcher's description perfectly. We like to make GTA:Network as easy to use as possible and therefore have spent time on crafting a basically fool proof launcher, giving everyone the opportunity to have a more user friendly interface allowing us to search servers, edit settings, host servers and check the changelog.

Certainly the points above aren't the only things we've been working on. The bulletin points below show what else we've been working on and each one adds to the added value that makes GTA:Network well worth it!
    • Servers receive a big improvement in performance and stability just like the client
    • CEF has been updated from 55 to 57 and should work flawlessly with no performance issues (update 56, update 57)
    • Dependencies have been updated such as Newtonsoft.Json and ClearScript (V8 Engine)
    • Security flaws have been fixed
    • Critical bugs causing crashes and errors have been fixed thanks to rewriting most of the code
    • Bug fixes and changes to the main menu! You can now sort servers and more
    • Performance improved when fetching servers
    • Changes to the client-side API to fix the float type issues
    • Improved loading notification text
    • No more pesky AI's ruining your game!
    • A hefty amount of work done behind the scenes
    • New API features, which can be found at: https://wiki.gtanet.work/index.php?title=Upcoming_API_features
    • more to come..

Thanks for tuning in for our very first development blog. We're proud of the improvements obtained so far and we hope you are too. Feel free to ask any questions and we'll do our best to answer them.

And oh, before I forgot, GTA:Network is almost out of the beta phase.. ;-)

(Don't forget that GTA:Network is a project completely developed in free time voluntarily, you can help us greatly by donating to the project. Many thanks in advance!)

Is the next update going to be that "out of the beta" thingy or are we going to get some more updates before that.
